Woman and Womb Clinic (ABN 89 868 331 614), trading as woman + womb (“we”, “us”), is a naturopathic clinic based in New South Wales providing telehealth consultations Australia-wide. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW).
As a health service provider, we handle health information, which is treated as sensitive information under Australian law and given a higher level of protection.
What we collect
- Identity and contact details — name, date of birth, email, phone number and address.
- Health information — your health history, symptoms, medications and supplements, pathology and functional test results, practitioner correspondence, and pregnancy or breastfeeding status where relevant to your care.
- Payment information — processed securely by our payment and booking providers; we do not store full card details.
- Website data — basic, non-identifying analytics about how the site is used.
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you — through intake forms, consultations, email and the contact form on this website — and through our secure practice management and booking software. With your consent, we may also collect information from other treating practitioners, such as your GP, specialists or pathology laboratories.
Why we collect it
- To provide safe, appropriate naturopathic care, including assessment, treatment planning and prescriptions.
- To manage appointments, reminders, payments and clinical records.
- To communicate with you about your care, results and follow-up.
- To meet our professional record-keeping and legal obligations.
- With your consent, to send occasional practice updates — you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only disclose it: with your consent (for example, to your GP or specialist to keep your care coordinated); to pathology and functional testing laboratories when testing is arranged for you; to service providers who support the clinic (practice management, secure video, payment processing) under their own strict privacy obligations; or where required or authorised by law, including to lessen a serious threat to life, health or safety.
Storage, security and retention
Your records are held in secure, encrypted practice management software with access controls, and are accessible only to your practitioner. In line with NSW health records requirements, clinical records are retained for at least 7 years from the date of your last entry — or, for clients under 18, until they turn 25 — after which they are securely destroyed.
Telehealth
Consultations run over secure video conferencing. Sessions are not recorded. You are responsible for choosing a private space at your end of the call.
Website, cookies and third parties
Our website may use cookies and basic analytics to understand how it is used; these do not collect health information. Links to third-party platforms — including our booking system (SimpleClinic) and Instagram — are governed by those platforms’ own privacy policies.
Access and correction
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal and health information we hold about you at any time by emailing hello@womanwomb.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. A reasonable administration fee may apply to large requests, and in limited circumstances access can be refused where the law requires it — we will always explain why.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how your information has been handled, please contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it promptly.
